Welcome to The International Coalition of Ranger Protection (ICORP) – a registered 501(c)(3) Charity that is at the forefront of preserving biodiversity in Southern Africa by advancing the development of a highly specialised field ranger team. This elite unit is our assertive answer to the escalating poaching crisis—a crisis that not only threatens iconic species but undermines community stability and ecological balance.

Forests
The UN FAO estimate that 10 million hectares of forest were cut down each year; of which South Africa looses around 200 000ha of land a year since 2015.
Rhino
Rhino are currently on the IUCN Red List as critically endangered. A rhino is killed every 22 hours.
Pangolin
Pangolins are the most trafficked mammals today Poachers kill as many as 2.7 million African pangolins every year.
Lion
There are only 3,100 wild lions left, in South Africa compared to the hundreds of thousands that roamed the savannah 100 years ago.
Biodiversity
Biodiversity, or the variety of all living things on our planet, has been declining at an alarming rate in recent years, mainly due to human activities, such as land use changes, pollution and climate change.
Elephants
African Elephants are on the IUCN Red List as critically endangered. There are only 350,000 elephants left in Africa (7.5 million in the 1930s)
Extinction
WWF's 2020 Living Planet Report held some alarming news:
The world has seen an average 68% drop in mammal, bird, fish, reptile, and amphibian populations since 1970.
